Curious if someone can help me get started in identifying some of the best patent boutiques (or high-tech focused GP firms) in the LA area, either in terms of size, prestige, etc.

What are the firms patent/IP attorneys in LA most want to work for?

i always started making my database by going to the USPTO search site. just type Los Angeles California in the seach fields and you'll get everyone who passed the patent bar in town.

for a city like LA it may be overwhelming, but it was the best way to find all the big firms and the boutiques. i did it for DC and it only took 3-4 hours, not awful with TV on in the background.

you'll get plenty of "false positives" - people with a patent reg. # who don't have anything to do with IP anymore, but it's the best way to cover all the bases I think. try places like pasadena too obviously.
