Can I work at a DA's office with a criminal record?

Does anyone know how difficult it would be for someone who was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana to get a job as an ADA? I realize this is a very specific question.
Background:
-Both the DUI and marijuana charge occurred simultaneously (single arrest).
-The arrest occurred towards the end of high school.
-This is the only time I have been arrested.
The truth is that the only reason I want to go to law school is to work at a DA's office. If this is going to be out of the question, then I might want to rethink law school. Thanks for the advice.

Are you convicted? There was a thread on this earlier. Someone worked in the DAs office as did their mother (in a higher position). She said in general they do not hire people with any kind of criminal record. But, he encouraged them to try anyway. I'm sure there are exceptions and yours is obviously not one of dishonest nature.

I would hope it would be a complete bar, but there are some crusading DA's who might not hire you because of it. I'd network like a mo-fo with anyone who might be able to put you in touch with local DA's, including cold emailing someone at the DA's office to ask if you can ask an attorney about some career advice.

I was convicted of the marijuana offense but not the DUI.
Do you know where I can find that thread?

I'm definitely going to try my best. Maybe I could work in a DA's office in a really small town and eventually move to a larger city.

yes I think it is definitely a possibility.. especially a smaller town. Yours is really nothing much.

I would edit, but it's too late. I meant "hope it wouldn't" above, I don't want random strangers on the internet to think I'm a jerk who crashed your thread to wish you ill.
