The judicial externship adviser at my school told us that it was school policy that if you apply for a judicial externship and the judge extends you an offer, you must accept it. I have seen a few posts here where people are asking for advice on whether to accept or deny a judicial externship, so I guess this policy is not universal. Just curious to see which way most schools tend to go.

I was told by a judge that you really should accept on the spot unless the judge gives you some time to think it over or confer with SOs. To not do so would be to start the relationship "on the wrong foot".
