Researching for a Professor

Post by Spinoza » Thu Jan 07, 2010 12:03 pm

I am not having a lot of luck with my 1L job search to firms and judges to this point. So I was thinking about researching with a professor instead. How do you think this would be received at OCI?

Would it make a difference if the professor was a major scholar?

The professor I worked for helped me get a firm job because he knew people who worked there. Or at least I think it helped, how the hell would I know? I think the professor knowing people at firms matters more than being a huge scholar...

Overall though, it's seen as slightly worse than judicial externships.
