Medium firms in Boston?

I've been trying to weigh the merits of Boston and NYC for some time now. It seems Boston biglaw is slightly less brutal, lower cost of living, still pretty cool city, etc. NYC, however, is awesome. I'm not 100% sure I'd like to work biglaw even if I am lucky enough to have that chance. Ideally, I'd love one of those rare midlaw jobs. I know the hours are often not too much better but I think a little bit more free time goes a long way sanity-wise.
Anyone know is a secondary market like Boston will have more medium firms than say, NYC?
