I've got an MA in IR which I'll earn before law school and I'm wondering if any international court clerkships (like ICTY/R, Sierra Leone, etc.) would help me get a teaching position at a law school soon (3-5 years) after. Thanks all!

Stellar grades from a top-school will help a whole lot more (and make a prestigious clerkship remotely possible).

Faculty connections, top grades at a top school, a COA / SCOTUS clerkship. It's really really really competitive for tenure track positions dude. You don't even know.

I don't know how you can know you want to teach something you haven't even learned yet. It makes even less sense when breaking into legal academia is near impossible.

1) Attend T6 (But really T3 is the target)
2) Get great grades
3) Demonstrate your ability to publish
4) Do bad ass clerkship and/or Post-JD Fellowship
5) Obtain faculty connections
6) Be super smart
7) Be super lucky
Seems easy enough.
