I think I will be joining you.

I see you are a USC undergrad. Where would you suggest people not from the area to look for housing? Are any of the public transit lines reliable to the USC campus?

I found this site: http://www.padmapper.com . It pulls all of the apartment data from craigslist and puts it on a map. it's helping me figure out how much certain areas cost. Plus you can use street view to take a look around and see if there are any sketchy neighbors.

I'd really like to sign a lease on a place now, but it's still early.

That site is nice. I was using craigslist, but it was tough trying to figure out where places were in relation to the campus. Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. Did anyone else receive housing? I just received it last week and have to pay the deposit by tomorrow.

I just got an email from a friend who is renting out his guest house... VERY NICE SINGLE, in North Hollywood a block away from the border of Burbank - close to subway and in a very nice, tree shaded neighborhood - drive would be 1/2 hr give or take for traffic - $1195 utilities included. It's available immediately, so if you're interested, you'll need to PM me ASAP. I like the guy, so A'holes need not apply!

Hey all,
I just got in off of the waitlist last week, and I was wondering if anyone from LA has heard anything about any of the following apartments: The Medici, The Met, or Metro 417. I've decided that I want to live downtown, but the reviews of these places have been somewhat shaky. Does anyone have any feedback on any of these places, or perhaps any suggestions on other nice apartments in the area? Thanks!

The medici is pretty popular with undergrads. None of my friends that lived there had any major complaints. It's only like 5-8 mins from campus and with the specials they have now, it's pretty cheap

Anyone familiar with the promenade towers? For a two bedroom with the summer specials its a pretty good deal (750ish, per roommate) and seems convenient...
