Haha - yeah me too. Its a pretty weird process. Hopefully I'm not being too naive in assuming all my money will magically appear in time for school to start.

Anyone else get their fall tuition statement today? Not every day you wake up to a 15.5k bill

So I was looking through the facebook group just to get a sense of where my classmates are coming from. I only saw like 4 people out of 80 from non-CA undergrad schools. Anyone else coming from east coast schools?

I guess that means I was approved as a CA resident.

For those who may be wondering: the "tuition and fees" amount includes the health services/insurance fees, just in case you were planning on waiving them.

Woo! Brandeis! Waltham, MA, represent! (OK, but I didn't go straight to law school and I live in Cali now; I'm not sure if I count. But I've also lived in Maryland, Florida and North Carolina since graduating from college seven years ago... what are we measuring exactly? Are we talking about people from other places going to Hastings or are we talking about residency for tuition? Or are we just speaking generally out of curiosity and getting to know people?)

Just speaking out of curiosity and getting to know people. Judging from the Facebook group it looks like I'll be the only person from the south at Hastings this year. Although I did move to CA a year in advance to get in-state.

I was born and lived in the South until I was 5 and had a heavy Southern accent...until I moved to CA. Does that count?

Jacksonville.

And Baycat: they say the orientation is mandatory, but I don't know if it's 3 days long. That would seem excessive, but I could be wrong.

There's definitely a Jacksonville, Arkansas - and I was confused when I said Mississippi - I was thinking of Jackson, MS. My bad.

I only know of Jackson thanks to Johnny Cash. My knowledge of the South is abysmal...I need to travel around there some day!

Has anyone decided on UCSF Mission Bay Housing? I'm really interested in this but am wondering whether it's a popular and convenient option. :)

I tried to get in a few months ago, but because they give priority to UCSF students I was promptly placed on a waitlist. About two weeks ago I called to see where I was on the waitlist, and they told me that my chances of getting off were very slim. At this point I very much doubt you are going to have any luck (of course it doesn't hurt to try).

the need access form/supplement requirement is confusing me.

for everyone else who already completed this: is it true you're directed to an external link (needaccess.org) and must pay $28 to submit this need access form, and you must submit this form for your hastings's finaid?

or is there some alternative way of doing this?

thank you wonderful thread :)
