I like it. But seriously, come to the 18th. I'm not going to be able to come up to NYC easily after that. Not too many weekends left before moving to Baltimore.geoanthem wrote:How about we make it a Columbia, NYU, Fordham, and Hoff mixer?

Sounds like a legit time. Black jack.... if I had some liquid assets, I would want to go play some black jack.... I'm broke as a joke.geoanthem wrote:I'm actually going to Atlantic City that weekend I know, what is a jewish kid going to AC for, but I want to hit up the black jack tables.hoffb86 wrote:I like it. Hello!
I admit to being a lurker
I'll be attending full time in the fall, so I look forward to meeting everyone then if not before.
Does anyone know, btw, what the deal is with the immunization forms? The link has been down for ages ...
Thanks!

I haven't even started thinking about the immunization forms. I should probably do that. If they're not up yet, my guess is they will be within the coming weeks. Or, we will receive them by email? Dunno.

It's in the Financial Aid booklet (also on the site). It's a basic federal loan thing apparently, but I've never done it/haven't done it yet. I believe the website is http://www.mapping-your-future.org. I think you have to do this before the loans are disbursed (*think*).jrock12 wrote:for my sake, and anyone else who may be curious, what are these?
i filed my e-MPN for stafford (not sure if i'm going to do gradplus yet), and thought i was done...is there something more that i missed?
And +1 to the nyc-school mixer.
Welcome Manhattanwombat! I'll be in the FT program too. The immunization form is due before registration (cause you can't register without it, or so they say). Try adding a "2" before (or after) "law" in the html. That solves the problem 9 out of 10 times.
I actually downloaded my immunization form a while back. Pretty straightforward. Needs your physician's signature.

Standard TLS elitism. We should probably be lucky they wanted us!geoanthem wrote:What no Cardozo? Only the big three NYC law schools? (I'm kidding. Don't kill me! Booya's not elitist in the least, which makes her awesome.)
I'll invite Fluffy, and tell her to bring the May start Cardozo kids. I also know a really sweet girl at the top of her class at NYLS. She'll most likely be transferring in to join us this year, but they don't find out until August. Also, Erikaseven took the money at Brooklyn (I could not talk her out of it), and she'd be a cool one to invite. I'm sure we know interesting people going to St. John's. I don't know any Hofstra, Pace, or Touro students, though. Do you guys?
And of course, Hoff's an honorary member of our class and should come up.

Wisc formally rejected me from the waitlist. Great start to the workday, even though I had no intention of going there and should have withdrawn anyway.

I walked over to the bookstore on my lunch hour and bought a copy of Introduction to the Study of Law Cases and Materials, 3rd Edition (Pammy, you *do* have the right book). Same exact price as Lexis ($45) but without shipping and handling, and I suppose tax was already included.

The bookstore's in the back of the main (only?) building near 59th on the first floor. It's one of those Barnes & Noble @ You University bookstores, so they sell bestsellers in addition to coursebooks and Fordham gear. It was a little on the small side but I think it went fairly far back. Maybe I was spoiled by my undergrad bookstore.
Anyway, I'm quite excited! It's my first official law school text book

That's a seriously good deal. And true story re: (a) and (b).casper00 wrote:Shipping would have been ~$3 for 5-20 days, which is a ridiculously large timeframe so I did expedited for a whopping $2 more.
I will let you know. I'm not too worried about quality of the book (even if its highlighted or whatever) because (a) it's a new addition and I can't imagine it was used by more than one person and (b) this class is probably as light a class as we'll see during 1L
