I'm headed for Norman this August. Anyone else?

So you're saying they might have a problem with my burnt-orange car?ndnlawdc wrote:No, but a piece of advice. Don't take it personally when people hate you because of your undergrad.
I'm saying you're taking your life in your own hands if you drive a burnt-orange car with Texas plates around Norman.patrickd139 wrote:So you're saying they might have a problem with my burnt-orange car?ndnlawdc wrote:No, but a piece of advice. Glad you're kidding. For the most part, OU fans don't truly hate anyone from UT. But there's less to do in Norman than in Austin, so OU fans have more time to focus on their Texas hatred. I could seriously see a couple of drunken undergrads doing some damage to a burnt orange car with anything UT-related on it.patrickd139 wrote:I was just kidding about the burnt orange car, but are they (OU students/fans) really that bitter? Aside from a little trash-talking around game-time, there's very little real animosity towards OU grads/fans in Austin. Thanks for the heads-up ND.
I got the scholarship offer in a separate letter that came a few days later. Their administrative staff is pretty approachable, try calling them to find out if there's an offer on the way. Congrats and good luck!rustyb04 wrote:got accepted to ou today. applied pretty late in the cycle. sorry to change the subject because i know how much ou and ut love their football. but, can someone that has been accepted and offered money say about how long the wait was to hear about $$ offered. gracias.
Congrats! I was just up there a few weeks ago and the library is better in person than in the pictures. A bit smaller than I was expecting, but awesome nonetheless.New Madrid wrote:I'm in!
Hoping for some scholarship money.
Anyone check out the virtual tour online? I haven't ever seen the l.s. in person but--wow--it looks great!. I especially like that reading room with all the hardwood.
Gotta see it. I decided to visit in a couple of weeks.patrickd139 wrote:Congrats! I was just up there a few weeks ago and the library is better in person than in the pictures. A bit smaller than I was expecting, but awesome nonetheless.New Madrid wrote:I'm in!

Congrats, and welcome to TLS. Though I'm not attending the summer program, I learned about it during a campus visit. Dean Richter offered it after learning I was considering Baylor's summer start. I can't quite tell if it's a conditional-acceptance program, for those trying to figure out whether law school is for them, or anyone in between. I wasn't interested, so I didn't inquire...jesk wrote:Looks like I'm headed to OU in the fall--any advice on where to live?
Also--when did you hear about the summer program?
Makes sense, my sister lives on the north side of OKC, but I've only been to OK to visit her at OSU and this past winter, so I'm one of those random out-of-staters (coming from school in SC). The recruiter mentioned post oak and avalon, but I'm thinking something unfurnished...emergencybarbie wrote:I'll be attending OU in the fall. I told the grandparents when I visited last week so I can't look back now. Anyone attending this fall moving from out of state? If so - when do you plan to move? I'm trying to figure out when to quit my job/move my stuff/say goodbye to the bf/plan a trip home before school starts.
I'm not sure about advice on where to live (I haven't lived in Norman since I was 3) but I think I'll be living with my sister in a house near campus or maybe at the Cottages (but probably wouldn't recommend this for a law student because its going to be overrun by UGs).
I'll watch your cat for 50 bucks a week.emergencybarbie wrote:I currently work in Los Angeles so I'm going to try to earn some money through at least part of the summer. I'll probably make my first trip mid to late july to haul my stuff over but then I'll go home for a couple of weeks and return in mid August. I think thats the plan.
But I have a cat and I can't take him home and I can't leave him in OK by himself for a couple of weeks so I might have to reassess this plan.

Those look sweet. If I didn't already have roommates I'd be in!patrickd139 wrote:Any potential roommates?

It's rediculously cheap when you split it between 2-3 people.
