Are you talking about claiming independent on FAFSA? Because all grad students are considered independent. Or are you talking about on a different form?YES!!! So, I was just able to claim independent status with an EFC of $0 bucks so I should def get tons more aid without my dad's salary!! Now, I can def move to Athens and not commute with or without Dad's help!

I like the summit and woodlands. Does anyone know of similar places that are possibly furnished?

Just got home from Athens & loved it! For the record, it took me 45 min to get there from Atlanta at like 9am and an hour and ten min coming home in rush hour 5pm traffic. Feel free to ask any Q & As. I liked how the scholarship director I have been working with gave me a tour. Admin is def approachable and personable.

I wanted some other opinions on this one. Would you live in a townhouse your 1L with three other roommates (2 of whom are undergrad) for $250 all utilities included. Or would you only room with other law students, or just get your own place. Oh yeah, the townhouse is near East Campus. Any thoughts appreciated before I sign the lease!

Re: University of Georgia Class of 2012
I was in Property. I don't remember the prof's name but he was tall and wearing a blue sweater and khaki pants. It was really laid back and chill & I don't remember anyone involved in foolery lol but then again what do I know. And I mentioned in another post that that was me with Greg. You said you were in the break room right? That's where all the snack machines and stuff were at but I only remember seeing females there.mathec1 wrote:Which classes did you sit in on Bella? Oh wait you mean those green couches and the brown tables. Those looked really pretty lol. Hmmm were you wearing a red or dark colored sweater?mathec1 wrote:Hmm, not my property class.
Yeah I was in there, yall peeked into one of the side rooms. I was in the bigger part with the tables and the couches.

lol yep now we're even. I tend to remember people's outfits and then can place a face to their outfit lol. I really like how the crowd at UGA seems pretty young. No offense to the older crowd but I'm still a baby myself as everyone tells me lol. I was surprised at how casual a lot of people were dressed. I saw a lot of flip flops and high school t-shirts! But honestly, after sitting in on that class and knowing that will be me in 6 months (if I pass french) I'm getting scared as hell!!mathec1 wrote:Haha, yeah you got me. I was wondering what yall thought about a 163/3.7 GPA being out of state. I have been in review for about 2 weeks and noticed all the 164 got a pretty quick response?

Hey Bella
I'm actually going to visit on Feb. 2nd. If you dont mind, could you pm me the name of those townhomes. I am looking to get that part over with asap and any help would be great. I have a couple of 1L friends that are there now and they suggest that I either live alone or be sure my roommates are grad students. One of them had 2 undergrad roommates this year and she hated it. You may luck up and get mature undergrad roommates (what do I know). Is the place you are looking at have roommate matching? Arent you sooo excited... just a few more months!

How do people feel about the University Towers? I was looking at a place there and it would be cool considering I could just walk to class in about 5 minutes.

Anyone know if UGA requires any parental info for fin aid? I did not see them listed on the Need Access website.

i believe all grad students are considered "independent" when it comes to financial aid. you can either fill out your parents info on the fafsa, or opt out, if you want to...bella16 wrote:Anyone know if UGA requires any parental info for fin aid? Yes, but a lot of schools then require a Need Access form where they ask for your parent's info in order to sort out who is the "most" needy.tha trev wrote:i believe all grad students are considered "independent" when it comes to financial aid. you can either fill out your parents info on the fafsa, or opt out, if you want to...bella16 wrote:Anyone know if UGA requires any parental info for fin aid? I just called UGA and they DO NOT require the need access form . All law students are considered independent.
