Last number of your class numbers.
Ah thank you much. I'm in Section 1 then...it isn't looking too good. Apart from Issacharoff (who almost makes up for everything with across the board praise) the course evals make it sound like my professors are either hard, anti-social, or both. :|
Section 1 here too.

Is there a reason that I'm "not allowed" to see Arthur Miller's civpro evaluation?

I think the evals from this past spring are not available yet.

I'm section 2 - anyone else not have a teacher listed for contracts yet? I'd be down for a night out in NY to meet up before orientation.

Should we just set up a date? How about next Monday? Somewhere near NYU? Would that work for everyone else in NYC already?

Section 2 here as well, and nope, they have not yet posted who our Contracts prof is. At least we already have a syllabus for Torts though...
Also, you can read Miller's evaluations for Procedure for any term other than last year, and there is a few up there. Just search for his name and then click on the icon in the Results column for one of the listed courses. Most people seem to think pretty highly of him.

I'm glad I won't be the only Red Sox fan here. What an awful weekend we just had.

Thanks for the tip. When I saw that I had Arthur Miller, I thought that name sounded familiar. I now recall why:

I had to trek out there twice last week. It was almost worth it for the yummy food.

So far there's three of us for Monday. Any suggestions for bars? I know nothing about this city.

This site should become even more important then google, twitter and facebook:

http://www.drinkdeal.com/

All the deals on drinks in NYC you could ask for.

Yes, not fun - but at least the Sox are still several games up against them for the season.

Just to let you guys know that this list is incomplete. The list that came up was missing the required reader for my torts class.

In theory, the booklist has all the books we need to order, correct? Only one of my professors (Epstein) has posted a syllabus ...

Epstein's books are cheaper elsewhere... I'm just a bit worried about buying these online. If they get there too early - Mercer/Dag sends them back. If they get there too late - epic fail.

Where can one find these books cheaper than the bookstore? Even the used ones seem roughly the same price online

And what do you guys think about getting older editions?

I'm ordering a few from B&N, but several of them aren't even available for sale online yet - my Civ Pro casebook (which is probably the same one everyone else is using) just came out last month, so it looks like we have to buy it at the bookstore. Fail.

This is what I put together this morning. I may have overlooked some things but I'm pretty sure this is right. I'm in Section 3 btw.

Contract Law and Theory – Scott – $129 – on B&N for $103
Restatement/UCC - $47.50 – must buy at NYU

Legal Writing in Plain English – Garner - $16 – on B&N and Amazon for $10
Basic Legal Research – $72 – must buy at NYU
Lawyering by the Book - $24.50 – must buy at NYU
Uniform System of Citation Bluebook - $27 – must buy at NYU

Torts – Epstein - $154 – bought on B&N for $130
Tort Law – Essentials - $37 – bought on B&N for $37

Civil Procedure 10E – Friedenthal - $157 – must buy at NYU
2009 Case Supplement for Civ Pro - $37 – must buy at NYU

edit: I only checked B&N and Amazon. I didn't look at half.com or anything - at least for the first semester I'm looking to get my books new.

For those who don't mind getting used books, campusi.com is great for comparing several different stores

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
