EDIT: So anyone else decided yet; any more ED admits?
At first I didn't either, but then I saw "K-K-K-". Clearly unintended on Katie's part.
Anyway, Pumpkin, to each his own. Just saying that I've never heard of it being an issue (aside from the one I mentioned). It often doesn't matter how neat the tenant is but rather how old the building is and how on top of things the landlord is. Other times it's not up to either party and is just luck (or "un"luck) of the draw).

I lol'd at imagining her not intending that.

The name is from a movie, the Way We Were.. Robert Redford... 1973, and it's similar to my actual name so it just popped into my head, and even as a southerner I didn't think once about the KKK references so you guys can CHILL OUT.

HAHAHA wow I'm a southerner (by birth) as well and didn't even think of the KKK thing. I just thought they were making fun of it seeming like stuttering or something.
How unracist of us.

D'Ag is much closer than Mercer (across the street vs a ~ 5 minute walk). I'm in Mercer, and it seems pretty quiet though if you're affected by noise you may want to get a higher floor, be on the quiet side of the building, or live in D'Ag, which I assume is much quieter.

Yeah when I visited I walked by D'Ag because it was right there but didn't even see Mercer.

Got the box of booklets today. Nice stuff. It's also nice to keep reading "we hope you will decide to join us in the fall" in all of the letters they sent me, even though I applied ED.
Anyone else decided to join the class?

I am nearly convinced, in fact the only reason i'm holding out is b/c i'm wondering if other top 10 schools would give me money and not NYU, which would make NY's cost of living hard to swallow. but NYU really does seem the coolest. can't believe i may stay in ny. woohoo!

Definitely. We should have a thread once more acceptance roll out to see when the most TLSers will be checking the school out.

For those of you interested (primarily ED admitted students) the admissions office will be sending out an email on the weekend of the 19th that will provide a link to the admitted students website. I was told that at that point everyone admitted will be able to login and we can pay our enrollment deposit online via credit card.

I didn't even notice this thread until today, so I'll bump it.
I'm am ED and am set on NYU. I was originally planning on living off-campus with a significant other, but he is having some complications with his work transfer so I might end up moving alone for the first year. I was thinking of staying in D'Agostino, since it's closer to the school and slightly cheaper. (I lived in a sorority house for half of college and a disgusting 9 bedroom house for the other half so I know what it's like to live in cramped spaces.) How early do you guys plan on submitting your applications...I want to wait as long as possible to confirm the bf situation, but I also don't want to wait too long in case I don't get the assignment that I want. Also, does anyone know if the dorms close for winter break?
If I can make it to an ASW, I'll go to the one in April. Anyone else?
Alright, I think that about covers me. YAY FOR NYU!

i'm very close to committing, but I'm still waiting to see if Columbia accepts me or and other t-10 offers some money. even then though, it would be very hard to turn away from NYU. the more I read about it the more it seems like the right choice.

I will most probably be at NYU next year! Accepted, but would like to visit one more time just to confirm, perhaps on an ASD. Can't decide about living situation; would like to have a little more space, but don't know anybody to room with to bring rent down nor do I think a commute during 1L would be the best decision. Look forward to meeting you guys.

Just got my needlessly large purple envelope.
I really like what I have seen about NYU. I'm a long way from committing, but I'd be happy to attend if that's how it shakes up.
See you at the ASD.
