how many people? i guess i should get around to joining.

also, b/c of some personal stuff it may make my life a little easier if was at columbia instead of yale (i didn't get any money from columbia though). is that just crazy to pass up yale? i don't really want to get into all the personal stuff but on a scale of 1-10 of how much "better" my life could be if i went to columbia vs. yale it would probably be between 5 and 6. i can't decide - i feel like for 3 years who cares, should not really make a huge impact and yale is head and shoulders better. but then i think maybe i am just buying into the yale hype and i probably don't want be an academic so does it really matter. ginsberg transferred from harvard to columbia to be with her husband and she did fine...
I think the biggest difference will be your time DURING law school. Yale's quality of life seems to be superior to any other LS. But, if you intend to go into private practice/firm work I don't think you're any worse off going to Columbia after school. Columbia places very well in that field.

That said, New Haven isn't too far from NYC. So if being a couple hours' drive away doesn't hurt the personal situation, it might be worth it.

Sparky, I don't know if you've answered this before, but what are your "legal" interests?

heh...for those in the facebook group. Take a look at all the UG institutions.

I can count all the non-ridiculously-prestigious schools on my fingers.

Up from how many at the beginning of this week? And any way you can look at the YLS Class of 2011 facebook group to see how many they ultimately ended up with (to give us a general idea of what % of admits actually join the FB group)?

Hi, all! Heard back on 12/15 but just stumbled across this topic. So, congrats to all, and maybe I'll see some of you in August!

As a side note: has anyone accepted not yet heard from their student buddy? I'm in Japan right now, but since email is the preferred route, this shouldn't really make a world of a difference in why I've been left hanging, right? I'm beginning to think they are going to rescind my acceptance! (Only slightly kidding). Also, is anyone torn between YLS and the Hamilton/HLS/SLS? If so, shoot me a PM--I'd love to see your thoughts, as I am currently working through the importance of these money/location/size factors.

Again, congrats!

My student buddy was pretty late with the first email and has been sorta non-responsive after an initial flurry of emails.

I think they give preference to those who signify that they're having a tough time making a decision.

Has everyone gotten their mug already? And a personalized note?

I am falling for Yale, I can feel it. Every student I've talked to has been AMAZING and extraordinarily helpful. The campus is drop dead gorgeous. Asha is unbelievable.

I think I'd be pretty crazy to pass up Yale.

Hey all.

I haven't heard from Yale yet, but since I haven't been rejected, I plan to just show up for classes.

See you at the ASW!

:(

No, the person has his/her respective facebook groups listed in profile.

Congratulations and welcome!

The facebook group is good if you'd like a preview of what the binder looks like--and to scope out your future classmates (if you decide to attend, that is)

Otherwise, I think you're okay.

Also, I still haven't received any mug/note from Yale. This is weak.
