It's only the greatest college town ever. Good ice cream, sports teams, and lots of cheese. Oh, and the law school isn't too shabby either (and by that, I mean it's really, really good)sydney wrote:Got back to school and checked the mail to find....a UW-Madison acceptance letter. Sweet. It was dated a few days before Christmas. Good luck to all of you still waiting...I'm still in the same boat with other schools. Also, anyone from up that way want to fill me in on just how great Madison is? I've heard only good things but have never been there myself. Thanks and good luck again!

the tuition break doesnt mean the school gets any less money, it means it subsidized by the government.jsaveri wrote:Nvoight,
I'm an Illinois resident so being an instate applicant is probably to your advantage. The only disadvantage I would see about being an instate resident is the tuition break you receive which means less money for the school. However, schools always like to take a lot of their "own." With your numbers, you should be able to get in. Like me, you should be able to lean on your GPA. Good luck, keep me posted!

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
Anyone look at LSN lately? Not a single non URM under 162 has gotten in and even some 162+'s have not heard back. Is Wisconsin trying to capitalize on more applicants in the pool with increased numbers? Or perhaps will us 161s have to wait a long time ? Historically on LSN over the past few years, the real show has been what happens to 161s in the 3.5-3.7 range, if you're 160 or below it's really difficult to get in as a non URM.

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
From what I have seen from past numbers on LSN and the averages posted on LSAC and Wisco's website, a 160 and above with a 3.7 and above has a chance of getting in.

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
does anyone know how legit that graph on LSN is? where it shows no-one got into madison yet with less than a 162, except one person somehow got in with a 3.1 and 148, doesn't make sense, can you just make a profile and lie like you can on this website? how many people do you guys think lie about where they get in on here?

The person with a 148 is a URM.thegor1987 wrote:does anyone know how legit that graph on LSN is? where it shows no-one got into madison yet with less than a 162, except one person somehow got in with a 3.1 and 148, doesn't make sense, can you just make a profile and lie like you can on this website? how many people do you guys think lie about where they get in on here?
But as to the legitimacy of the graphs: obviously they're not representative. There's a lot of obvious liars but it's the best information we have?

for example, if you view TLS charts here, theres one guy drew82... and it says he got into about 10 schools with a 160 and 3.3. including madison and notre dame, chicago kent, etc..., seeing even one flame ruins any good use of this resource.

What schools were they though? 19 schools that are mostly tier 2-4.... I believe it. ND might be a bit sketchy, but why just flame with one?thegor1987 wrote:ok i went back to it and counted, its actually 19 acceptances, also overlooked uconn law, ohio state... any one by itself is not that unbeievable but to get into 19 schools with those stats. come on.
I guess I'd think he was a flamer if he got into HYS through MN/Emory

In or not, I hope I hear soon. Been complete since Nov. 11th, so I've become understandably antsy.

Sounds like were all in the same boat, went complete months ago and have heard nothing!!! What's the deal, like another poster said, rejection or acceptance, I would like to hear something!!!!!! I could have sworn I either read or heard that this week is a week where many schools send out letters so we will see.

I am happy to know no one else has heard much from Wisconsin! I am worried because my GPA is on the lower end (3.2) and I got a 162 on the LSAT...here's to hoping. Maybe the longer they take to get back to us, the better chance we have at getting in

I wish. This certainly was not the case with Minnesota.lawrunner313 wrote:I am happy to know no one else has heard much from Wisconsin! Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
Anyone else feel like their is a very small amount of decisions that have been sent out? According to LSN and the amount of activity on this thread it seems like not many people have heard from Madison.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
