Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I believe the @law.columbia.edu is simply a vanity email (for resumes, et cetera) that automatically forwards to your real @columbia.edu email address. In other words, you can receive emails at @law.columbia.edu, but you don't have to actually log in to a separate account to get those emails, since they auto-forward to your real Columbia email address.lex talionis wrote:Maybe I'm missing something, but how do I get access to my first.last@law.columbia.edu email that is listed on my Lawnet profile?
I emailed to it to see if it was the same as abc1234@columbia.edu, but nope.
Also, this might sound ridic, but I think I'm going to request a locker near the entrance I'd probably use coming from my apt.

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
My email to my @law.columbia.edu was sent... but it never made it to @columbia.edu... forever lost in the interwebs... but everyone else has first.last@law.columbia.edu listed as an email address on their LawNet profile, right?
(And I still haven't done my CBT yet, and I have access to LawNet. After you sign into AdmitNet, LawNet should be one of the options on the left menu, or you can access it on its own using your AdmitNet username/password.)

Fiiinally got housing- 529 W. 111 St., rooming with Lem! I got almost exactly what I wanted, minus a couple details, so I'm pretty happy; it was worth the wait.

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I finallllly got my housing assignment today (520 West 114th Street) as well! There was no attached floor plan, although I'm sure my room is absolutely tiny because my rent is cheap (one of my requests). I'm rooming with an Art student and a future Social Worker (it said SW after her name...I'm assuming that's the Social Work grad school)...this should be interesting. I wrote down a preference for roommates who were also in the law school, but I got everything else I wanted, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
I'll see you guys all in August!

it's your "PID #" in the E-mail called "Columbia Law School - Housing Information."totebag wrote:I'm filling out a form that needs my 'Columbia University ID Number' (it starts with a 'C'). Does anyone know where I can find it?

Anyone know how you can find out who your roommate is if said roomie choose not to disclose their info...or in my situation if your first roommate declined the offer and you have been assigned a new one?

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I would just e-mail UAH (or E. Grainger if you're in law student-only housing). I actually didn't get my roommates' info but one of them got mine, so I don't think their system of including roommates in the initial e-mail offer is that great...dachillchick wrote:Anyone know how you can find out who your roommate is if said roomie choose not to disclose their info...or in my situation if your first roommate declined the offer and you have been assigned a new one?

FYI: LawNet photo due today for student IDs... at least that's what the orientation website says... I'm assuming that means the photo on AdmitNet, though, since I can't find anywhere to upload a pic on LawNet itself...

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
Fortunately, it appears that if you uploaded a photo to AdmitNet, it is automatically transferred with your other details to LawNet. I assume this means it'll also be used for your ID card automatically?lex talionis wrote:FYI: LawNet photo due today for student IDs.

That mailing they just sent out says July 20 for the Admit/Lawnet photo. Still true? I have yet to decide on a picture...

But http://www.columbia.edu/cu/id/docs/Subm ... index.htmlAntipodean wrote:Well, I dug out the recent mail I received from Student Administrative Services, and went to http://www.columbia.edu/cu/id to see if I had my photo already. It did not.
Even if your photo is showing up on AdmitNet and LawNet, that does not mean that the ID Department has it.
Also, the ID Department doesn't accept the same input that AdmitNet/LawNet, so tinkering with the image may be required. Bleh. Time to optimize a .jpg... again...
just directed me to http://www.law.columbia.edu/law_school/ ... ent#151996
which put me back at admitnet.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
