yup.
the only other theory i have is that some piece of data is missing from my file (e.g. transcripts - which were sent but for which i received no acknowledgement, etc.).
dammit.
I highly doubt that's the case. CLS briefly thought that I hadn't gotten my dean's certification in about 3 weeks ago, and I got a couple e-mails about it - it's not like they'd just not tell you if you didn't get something in.
I'm also not appearing - I have a feeling that it's just some sort of clerical error where some list didn't get added properly. If you can log in to lawnet and can see your classes, I don't think you need to worry even if you don't appear on the class list (also, the fact that there are 3 people just on here alone who aren't appearing makes me think it's a widespread problem).
That being said, I'm gonna e-mail somebody from the law school IT department about it (once the website comes back and I can actually get their e-mail address)

I'm clearly not understanding my schedule correctly because, as I read it, I have 3 classes at once. Do some of these classes only last a short time?

Well, Legal Methods is done before regular classes start, and LPW meets at a different time from August 19-September 4 than it does once regular classes begin (the latter is the time reflected on Lawnet, I think). This help at all?

To Columbia '12:
I enjoyed meeting many of you this past evening. My special thanks to Antipodean (and Dresden, of course, though she'll be at Chicago.) I wish all of you a very happy orientation!
Your neighbor to the south,

Dude, Bobbitt is badass. He presented during ASW and it was pretty interesting.

On a related note, the apartment two doors down in my apartment building says "P. Bobbitt" on it. Wonder if it's him.

No, but Sovern was the former president of Columbia (University, not just Law School).

Should we get a master list going of who has which teacher in what section? It'd certainly be a help to have a support group going into classes instead of trying to form one once we are already there. I have:
LEGAL RESEARCH
Section 17 CARISSA VOGEL
CIVIL PROCEDURE
Section 4 ANNE O'CONNELL
CONTRACTS
Section 2 AVERY KATZ
LEGAL METHODS
Section 2 MICHAEL SOVERN
LEGAL PRACTICE WORKSHOP I
Section 17 IRIS LAN
TORTS
Section 6 ANDRZEJ RAPACZYNSKI

Thanks! That does help some. It makes sense of Legal Methods for me. I'm still not sure when LPW meets. I hope it isn't meeting when it looks like it is. It would mean my Mondays would be a 9:30-10:30 class and then I won't have class again until 6:30-7:30 a night. Then I gotta catch the 8:07 back to Jersey. I won't get home until 10 or so. I'm going to be tired on Tuesdays. Anybody wanna get Tuesday coffee with me at that great little Hungarian Pastry shop on 112th and Amsterdam?

Yea, sounds good!
I'll jump on the schedule-posting bandwagon:
Civ Pro: Anne O'Connell (Section 4, with seemingly half the other CLSers on here.)
Contracts: Goldberg (Section 5)
Torts: Rapaczynski (Section 6)
LM: Sovern (Section 2)
LPW: Ridha (Section 13)
Legal Research: Wertkin (Section 13)

Due Wednesday, I assume? According to our orientation schedule, we're supposed to get our first Legal Methods assignment tomorrow, and it will be due on Wednesday. So maybe Strauss just gave you an early heads up on the assignment.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
