How the hell did you manage that?ccw1234 wrote:I strongly recommend using Priceline. I just booked at the Marriott Cambridge (as it turns out) for $75 a night (March ASW).
I figure the long, cold walks will be good practice.
Priceline shows it at $249/night.

But what if they stick me out in bumble-f?ccw1234 wrote:I dared to name my own price, as instructed by William Shattner.
Just do the 'name your own price' option, select the 3 1/2 stars (or something like it) option, and low-ball it. I was surprised any hotel took it so soon, and it turned out to be the Marriott Cambridge. Happy surprise... my boyfriend may not complain about the costs now!

Do yourselves a favor. Stay in Alewife and take the T into Cambridge. It is like 10 minutes on the red line and you'll probably save a ton of $$.

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
I've always had really good luck with priceline. Their locations are specific enough that I've never been stuck somewhere awful. Usually I book a hotel and then do priceline a few days before the trip to see if there are any deals, but if people are having luck this early I might get in on it sooner.Objection wrote:But what if they stick me out in bumble-f?ccw1234 wrote:I dared to name my own price, as instructed by William Shattner.

So you lowballed it to $75? Never used this thing.ccw1234 wrote:I dared to name my own price, as instructed by William Shattner.

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
Well I named my own price. $75. Got the Hyatt Regency. Similar distance as the Marriot, but I haven't heard of anyone else staying there .
Oh well, can't complain too much. $200/night hotel for $75/night.
Someone book the Hyatt so I don't feel alone.
Mallard? <3

How long is everyone staying? I can't decide whether to fly home Monday night or Tuesday Morning...

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
I'm arriving Friday evening (13th) and leaving sometime on Tuesday the 17th. This gives me a little time beyond just the ASW to explore the Cambridge/Boston area on my own.
Also, since hotel checkout times are usually earlier than the ASW program ends on Monday (2:45), it would be a pain in the butt leaving Monday. What are you going to do with your stuff if you have to check out before the final events? Lug it around campus?

Yeah, I think I might come home Tuesday. Too bad the only good flight to LA is at 7am. Yuck.
