Why? Are you going to game us out of our fake money (since none of us will have any real money)?thesealocust wrote:So in another thread about Dean Trujillo's secret program to game the LSDAS with his phone calls (lol) that got badly off topic the concept of a weekly poker game was mentioned as a non sequitur.
Despite it being mentioned in jest, I for one support such an endeavor.
I'd love to play.

Time to join the mix. I will be arriving around August 11 and will be renting a room in a house not far from the corner with some 2Ls. I saw some earlier posts of people looking for other 1Ls for lifting and playing tennis and hoops, etc. and I would like to get in on some of that before school starts. See you all in the fall.

I think I read on ATL at some point that there is a rising 3L (maybe?) that is some kind of poker champion and he attends UVA. Let's not invite him.CE2JD wrote:Why? I know I shouldn't be that surprised by this, but how many people here are married/engaged going into law school? How exactly is the engagement going to work (i.e. - are you getting married during a summer of LS or making it an extra long engagement?)?

Re: UVA Class of 2012
Copy/pasted from a thread in "Choosing a Law School:"
While over-enrollment seems to bode well for the school's future prospects--everyone wants to come to UVa!--is it an actual problem? Should we pitch tents outside the admissions office in case they offer scholarships and free round trips in exchange for deferrals?I originally got in at William & Mary with the graduate fellowship ($14k), and got waitlisted (and stayed on) at UVA, BC, and GWU. At the suggestion of a UVA admissions worker, I re-took the LSAT in June and got 6 more points. That was enough to get me in at BC with $10k, and get me in at UVA on the condition that I defer my admission to next fall since they're over-enrolled.

Fiancee and I are waiting until 2011, and we'll probably do it in May of that year.
We'll attempt to squeeze it in some time between spring 2L exams and whenever my 2L summer job starts. Worst case scenario, I may have to frontload my exam schedule (assuming we can do that...) or push back my job's start date a week, which I really dread doing. 2-3 weeks is really all we need to do a wedding and honeymoon, so hopefully we get lucky on the scheduling.

It was interesting to see UVA's view on why it has a low minority population.isittomorrowyet wrote:Did everyone see the TLS interview with Dean Trujillo? http://www.top-law-schools.com/jason-tr ... rview.html

Other than required 1L classes, all other final exams are on flex schedule meaning you can take them whenever you want during the 2 week exam period.I may have to frontload my exam schedule (assuming we can do that...)

It's nice to have someone cooking, cleaning, and paying the rent while you're studying your ass off.
