Dang it, all this action on TLS/Facebook has delayed my plans of playing Civilization IV.

heh... I just finished re-playing all of Diablo I. Yet another activity filed under 'because I won't have time... ever again... come August'

The only thing I ever play is random old Mario games on Wii. I'm thinking about selling it because I doubt I'll have much time to play next year, and as it stands I have lots of time to play and use it once every six months.

I believe we should take a moment and revel in the fact that we've gone from 69 pages on April 14 to our current 75... and the day's not yet over.

defending my thesis was great, actually. i realized i actually knew what i was talking about, and that my professors found my work interesting. i hope yours goes well too!

Hmmmm... I could see myself doing that. I still have the disc. I was going through my house last week, and found out that I still have the disc to every Blizzard game (except the latest WoW expansion, since I quit playing a while ago).

i interviewed sid meier for work last summer! he's a nice guy. very... dad-like.

That must have been awesome. I don't really know anything about him, except that he puts his name on all his games.

HATE theses. Mine ended up being 98 pages. Biggest mistake ever.

haha.....im sure after 3 years I will consider my thesis a vacation

but i stopped counting drafts at 10...so now im prob in the 1,000's

and OMG omg (hehe) that is a really long thesis...what was your major/topic

History and Science/Robots as "Uncanny Harbingers of Death" haha - the research was cool; the writing, not so much...

YC just said that his thesis was 104 page AND involved scary statistics! So he's definitely got me beat!

I did econ/poli-sci and I never had to do a thesis. The longest paper I've written is about 10 pages or so.

I wrote a 30 ish page business plan, so I guess that counts for something, but no thesis or anything hard.

All I had was a 40+ page exploration of the Turkish language. So somewhere between business plan and something I have to defend in front of people.

I have lots of stats..so thats how I justify mine being shorter..since its research based and not theory based

you guys with powerpoint are lucky...its just me and my committee (3 profs) at a table tomorrow

they said to just come prepared to talk about it

the lack of direction is nerve wracking

To veer off topic a bit: Does anybody else find themselves responding defensively when they see people from the UVA '12 thread posting elsewhere? I just found two places where somebody had disagreed/mocked something a person from this thread said, and I found myself charging in for defense almost subconsciously, lol.

lol, I saw that. All I did was post about criticizing gunners in my blog, and someone went on this useless rant, so I had to whip out Admiral Ackbar. Thanks for the support!
