Best Bar Prep Course for CA?

Post by arhmcpo » Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:16 pm

Any thoughts on this? And are there any advantages to signing up early over waiting until your 3L year? The reps always claim you'll lose out/get screwed with higher prices if you wait but I'm thinking thats probably all BS

I was figuring taking BarBri or Kaplan since they seem the most reputable. Anyone have an opinion whether online classes are sufficient or paying extra for in-person classes is worth it?

I think the price increase claims are BS. My brother took bar bri 4 years ago and it was like ~$3300. Today it is like $3700. I mean, yeah, the prices go up, but it's not like they are rising by $500 per year.

I'll be taking BarBri for CA, but I am sure others are good as well.

where is the info about online courses? I only see Barbri Mobile, which costs $300 more.

I got the Kaplan prices from a rep tabling today - she said after discounts they would give me it would be $2900 for online or $3200 for in person so those might be lower than listed prices. They also give free mpre books/instruction with a Bar purchase for what thats worth

those are good prices. I am tempted by the online. if you take the in person course they just play a video on the projector anyway. I'd rather watch it from home.
