Both of the Rutgers applications are really, really annoying. And then, once you think you're all done and you are happily sending all of your apps through LSAC, you discover that both of the Rutgers schools require their payments be sent via snail mail. Listen, Rutgers, if my credit card payment through LSAC is good enough for Cornell and Fordham, it should be good enough for you!

USC.

The app itself is 2 pages and easy....but....

if you have a fee waiver, you have to print the confirmation and physically mail it to the school like you were sending them a check. Couldn't they just check it off on CRS like everyone else.

And UF requirse you pay via mail. WTF. It's not 1999 anymore!

Vanderbilt's application is kind of a pain.

I really hate my current UG. I have to fill out all this crap to prove I'm an in-state student. Really?! Nevermind that I have been on an in-state scholarship for the past 4 years. Nevermind that just last semester I had to prove I was a resident in order for my wife to get in-state tuition. Now a 3rd time?! I really hate them. They want to know all the dates I've been out of the state over the last year and for what reason. All I put was..."10-15 days, vacation and personal reasons." If they want more info than that, they can screw themselves.

On a side note, they're the only school that hasn't given me a merit fee waiver yet. I've received one from everyone except HYS. I contacted them about it and they said they only have a need based waiver. They gave me the need based waiver form and said I could fill in my academic info instead. I would consider going to the school, but if they don't give me a fee waiver, sianara.

Rutgers-Newark has annoying questions about residency too. I grew up in NJ. I like for what were you doing here question where I put "Dependent Child" .

As for the fees, Cam gave me a waiver, but I'm a double-legacy of the law school....

Not really annoying, but Loyola-Chicago would like to know “May we contact you at work?” err… no.

UCLA - Long and redundant. Have these guys ever heard of a resume?

Stanford - Class rank? My school didn't give class ranks! And what's with the Dean's Certification form? I think this is the only school still asking for it.

Penn - Damn those supplemental essay prompts.

UCLA was incredibly infuriating
Mich and Penn for extra essays
some safeties with fee waivers were super annoying -- Illinois made me cut my ps down to 600
One application asked for the address of my high school...seriously? blood type maybe?

I think a lot of state schools ask for this.
Some, however say that if you don't fill it out, it will be assumed that you are not an in-state resident. I wish most did that.

To be fair, you can almost never use a credit card in Camden or Newark.

Is anyone applying to Brooklyn? How bad is it to not write one of the supplemental essays? They specifically have options other than DS, which means they want others. I'm not above there range, more like right in the middle.

The one for Illinois is fairly annoying, but I'll forgive them completely in exchange for an admittance letter and significant financial aid package.

I'm not liking Indiana's so far. I like the school, but the app asks way too many questions.

Cupidity wrote:USC's is beautiful. It's like. One page. everything gets filled in by the common form. Cornell's is pissing me off because the College Major Box is so small that even the abbreviated "Poli-Sci" runs over the margins.I have no idea what to do about it. I'm mind blown. Thank god I'm not an Aerospace Engineer or something, I'd have no room left for my work experience.

I agree with others that UCLA is the worst. USC is very good which is annoying because I want UCLA over USC. My pet peeve was definitely the spaces some apps had for major. I'm a double major in Classical Civilization and Philosophy. Fuck. Philosophy barely fit half the time.
