Re: Admissions Office Shout-Outs
+ for Michigan. I called about a simple LOR question and the woman who answered asked for my name and went out of her way to give me any information i needed. I almost felt bad telling her I didn't have any other questions at the time. She sounded like she really wanted to help.

Give a Negative shout-out and 2 thumbs down to University of South Carolina Law. I'm a grad of USC Honors College and almost everyone I know who has tried to contact USC Law has not heard anything back or was treated very rudely. I was able to finally get in touch with one person at the law school and she was extremely nice via email but last year and this year (re-applying b/c I didn't get in with GPA and LSAT at median for USC) they have been very rude and inefficient in the admissions process.

Also let me give a positive shoutout to Ole Miss Law. I have never dealt with anyone nicer than Barbara Vinson at Univ. of Miss. Law School. SO nice and helpful!

GW has been wonderfully helpful for me, alway responding to e-mails and updating my file when I noticed a mistake. Very pleasant.
Gtown, on the other hand, leaves some pleasantries to be desired.
+1 on the positive UVA shout-outs, too.

+ for Duke. I live nearby and I visited. I got there about 5-10 minutes late for the guided tour. The lady in the admissions office ran all over the building to find the group for me. I was very impressed. And the tour guide was awesome.

Stanford and Berkeley were super nice (maybe it's the California sun?).
Yale people were horrible. In the two times I called, they were extremely rude and dismissive. Boo.

Careful, Southern Cal trolls may attack throwing "USC" out there in reference to South Carolina.BCgoUSC wrote:Give a Negative shout-out and 2 thumbs down to University of South Carolina Law. +1 Michigan (Everyone over there is just lovely)
+1 Harvard (Once you get past the admission hurdle, the resources they mobilize to get you there are pretty cool. e.g. emails from profs and students)

Re: Admissions Office Shout-Outs
This was last year, but I've found the admissions offices at Pitt, Cincinnati, Wisconsin and UIUC to all be simply phenomenal.
Oh, and a big BOOOOOOOO to Rutgers-Newark. Unresponsive, standoffish, and the dean is somewhat of an ass.
GW gets a 'neutral' rating from me.

Shout outs to:
Vanderbilt- I agree with the poster above who said the lady on the phone was great. She was very friendly and helpful.
WUSTL- Got to meet with an assistant dean of admissions who did a great job answering questions.
Michigan- Haven't been there yet, but they have been helpful over the phone.

Two GIANT thumbs up for UVA, Vandy and Wake!! All ridiculously quick, courteous and helpful.
Edit: As much as I love them thumbs down for Duke and UNC.

Ohio State does not answer e-mails, it seems, despite giving e-mail as a preferred method of contact. I, and at least one other person here, have never gotten a single response from them.

+1 for Florida State.
Very helpful and kind in talking about how acquiring residency works and what to do if I decide to attend, even though I had yet to even apply. Very nice people.

Nah. That was last year. I would have loved to go, but I had to turn down the offer for a number of personal reasons.tomhobbes wrote:Are you going to Harvard?jackassjim wrote:+1 Michigan (Everyone over there is just lovely)

I haven't had too much contact with admissions, but from the limited time that my applications have been turned in, I heard back from Wisconsin and they are on the ball there. I just phone them with any questions concerns and they are always happy to talk with me. So
+1 to Wisconsin
