shout out to NU.
Had to exchange some emails because of the interview,
and they were very friendly.

Another +1 for Vandy, I went in for an interview and got the full treatment, about an hour and a half of one of the admissions lady's time. I don't know how relevant this is, but the fact that this happened in spite of me having a 162 I thought was surprisingly nice.

Indiana- Bloomington sent me a VERY personalized email (from a student) and follow-up call. Undoubtedly the best contact from a law school I have received.

I have heard from a friend in last years cycle that they are unbelievably amazing throughout the whole process. They even set up contacts for him so he could check out apartments that other students were staying at.

I haven't had a ton of reason to interact with individual offices yet, but so far I was

+impressed by Michigan's personal touches in recruiting and fee waivers; hand-written, personalized notes do convince me to apply, and have generally warm feelings.
+Happy about UVA really keeping me in the loop, getting back quickly on all issues, and sending links to programs I might be interested in
+Columbia's admission process is dreadful (wtf, why no status checker? why is it taking forever to go complete?) but I like the fact that groups on campus have contacted me, and given me a way to by-pass the admissions office and ask more personal questions

-Really unhappy with the long processing time and black box approach to application statuses that BU and NYU are taking.

Haven't had e-mail contacts, but wasn't impressed with their website (one of the more unimpressive law school websites IMO).

Very positive shout out to Dean Brown at Fordham. He offered me a deferral last year, but because I couldn't be certain my wife would be able to find a job in NYC I didn't want to commit Fordham. He was extremely understanding, appreciative of my honest assesment of my situation, and even went as far as to say "While I can't guarantee you'll be accepted again next year, we liked you this year and we will like you next year", or something to that effect.

I was re-accepted on 11/6.

While I know people's experiences with GW differ, I appreciated how fast they were to get back to me with a fee waiver (3 hours).

UVA is also great. I sent in my application saying I would be a resident, and then when I printed out the residency form I realized that my entire life, housing, job, family, money and all will be in another state starting in December. Whoops. I e-mailed them to say I'd mistakenly put myself down as a resident and they got back to me in TWO MINUTES - seriously, two minutes - to say it was no problem and they'd put a note in my file.

Georgetown hasn't gotten the best reviews either, but they were also quick to respond to my request and grant me a fee waiver.

Northwestern - staff was very nice when I visited to interview, everyone I met was helpful [also, not admissions staff, but I got no weird stares from profs/students even when I was exploring the halls and pretty plainly didn't belong there]

UVA - seems very together, easy with the fee waivers

Dean Brown wins this thing hands down, though I'm certain he admitted me over better people. He went to the trouble of working out my TLS identity, and implied that my saga kept the admissions office entertained. I wanted to go to Fordham, and apparently that mattered, though he claims he didn't make the TLS connection until later in the summer.

The man is thoughtful, approachable, and the perfect person to run an admissions office. I'm not kidding. He gave me a chance when others looked down on my major and my school.

+ UVA - Fast email turn-around time, very friendly admissions staff, student panel rocked my socks off...
(only negative was their student tour guide had NO personality at ALL. When she met people in the hall, she was obviously embarrassed to be giving a tour and seemed annoyed with us all... so much for being such a "friendly campus"... I actually liked everyone else I met EXCEPT the tour guide.)

+ GULC - Easy to sit in on classes, responsive email requests.

For fee-waiver requests:
+ to Pitt and Rutgers-Camden for being super nice and writing nice notes to go with the waivers.

Another positive for Wake Forest, they've really been a pleasure to deal with, despite that I don't have the numbers to get in.

big shout out to Texas. Visited this past weekend and they were wonderful. Held a tour for me, I spoke with the dean after the tour, and they were genuinely welcoming as a staff

Positive experience:
Alabama - the lady (Paige) was SO sweet on the phone. Their dean also called me to let me know about scholarships.

Michigan & UVA- very quick and generous on the fee waiver

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
