Well, admittedly, there was a little bit of sarcasm there. The acceptance rate was still absurdly high, though.

katz, you're a good guy, but jesus dude stop killing miami! some of us aren't lucky to get into illinois  we take what we can get lol
Alright, alright

You'll actually be there as they increase the quality of the school, so consider yourself one of the lucky ones! The new dean is definitely going to change a lot of things...
hopefully. id like to see them get more selective in their admissions next cycle (which is probably going to happen since 2010 is going to be a gauntlet)

^ You can only become "more selective" by reducing the incoming class size... the rest if out of the school's hands and based on the decisions of would-be applicants. Of course a school can try and encourage more quality applicants, thus making the school more selective, but I'm pretty sure most law schools out there have been trying for awhile to find ways that will encourage more (and preferably stronger) students to apply.

Not that TLS had any doubt, but the WSJ confirms with USNWR that these are accurate:

I actually prefer your rankings, since you have UNC as a Top 25 school. But ... dare I ask how much time you spent coming up with that?

one interesting change to the careers section - under percentages of people in certain careers, they're now reporting how many clerks are clerking for an article iii federal judge, which should help in interpreting clerkship numbers

Is typically everything that's on the online version in the special edition graduate schools magazine? I'm not going to buy the book if there's more info online.

basically all presidentially appointed (senate approved) judges - includes scotus, courts of appeals, district courts, and the court of international trade - they're the most prestigious clerkships (scotus >>>> coa >>>>>>>>> district)

I'll just assume traffic courts fits somewhere in the middle.

Agreed. The jump itself is pretty meaningless, but given how many people seemed to think Iowa was on the decline, it's still really nice to see.
