Top Law Schools

IS it just me or does this whole process seem like dating?

You're a number, you target schools "in your range"...but you play the field, hit on as many schools as possible to increase your odds of acceptance...

you'll be rejected sometimes, but don't take it too personally, there's plenty of schools out there and one day you'll find the one who appreciates you for who you are...

you had a crush on that one top-ranked school since puberty hit, been fantasizing about her every day, but most crushes don't come true so easily...

before making the decision the school has to take everything in account (or so they say), not just your numbers but your statement and resume etc, try to get a feel of the person as a whole...

there's always that random guy that somehow scored a school way out of his league...

sometimes a school protects itself from getting hurt by rejecting you even though technically you're too good for her...she just doesn't want to go through the pain of you leading her on and then rejecting her in a few weeks when the hotter law school offers itself to you.

Wow, never thought of it that way but you're totally on the money.

And they each have their own method for letting you know whether or not they're into you... email/phone/snail mail. Some status checkers are easier to read than others - some give you warning. Others, none at all.

You dont want to come on too hard and seem like desperate or anything, schools like the guy who has options...

im bumping this cuz no way in hell im letting posts about "unlv" or "what do you think my chances are with a 141?" get ahead of this...

Fee waivers from the real flirty ones, sometimes meaning you have a great chance other times meaning you're just getting teased...

i got a fee waiver and then rejected. what a tease!!

I hate all the games and the teasing!

Yeah I got teased by a fee waiver or two in my day, led me on, offered me the world...only to crush me at the end...

That's right...the most important similarity is the sheer unpredictability and long periods of time with no closure...im sitting here wondering where i am going to be in the next 6 months, i have no clue!

I've noticed I hate the girls(schools?) that don't answer quick enough. "What the $%^& are you thinking about? I should be the one thinking, your T2 and I'd have no BIGLAW prospectsa with you.. And the last guy you dated was a loser.. Whatever bitch.

Sometimes they'll ask for a grade request when you're far above their GPA 75th percentile. I hate mixed signals!

Sometimes you expect money (scholarship) in exchange for your services but instead they just fuck you and give you nothing.

I suppose if I didn't date much, and was dehydrated, i'd make this comparison sure

Sometimes you'll get with much hotter chicks, but you're still upset about the uglier one that rejected you.

God...I dread the day when a school send a text message saying "We're just not that in to you!"

YEah and then after a while you start to like it too...thats exactly what happened with my and Georgetown. i didnt have much interest in it until my friend starting ranting about how he loved it so much and wanted to go and it was his dream school...eventually i did too...same with girls, sometimes you feel obligated to like certain girls cuz other guys do
