I find myself scrutinizing every e mail. I e mailed one school to set up a tour (as the website directions say). The e mail response was cold.

"Please call 999-999-9999 to set up an appointment".

that was it. Other schools' responses are more like,

"Good morning, Screech! We are so glad you want to visit *** Law." etc. etc.

Gotta say, it is affecting my decision.

Well, if she was a prostitute, I sure don't remember paying.

I can understand where she was coming from, back then it's clear I wasn't really paying her much attention (low GPA) but now I'm back and I've got my act together and I've matured and my game is strong (higher LSAT), but she's heard it all before so she gives me the heisman. Understandable yet unfortunate.

I broke up with my undergrad three semesters into our relationship. Recently, I tried to contact her in order to take her out for a few years - she told me I'd have to wait. I think she's holding grudges.

Edit: I think the process is, from the admission committee point of view, more similar to an auction style fantasy football draft. Only some participants have more points to play with.

Step 1. Develop an interest in the other party completely out of whack with their interest in you.
Step 2. Be crushed when rejected.
Step 3. Show up at their doorstep filthy, deranged, with half of your head shaved and a bag of hair in your hand screaming "THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME"

And they each have their own method for letting you know whether or not they're into you... email/phone/snail mail. Some status checkers are easier to read than others - some give you warning. Others, none at all.
