Today is my last day!!!
Not a huge break before school begins, but the extra paychecks are sure nice!

In the midst of layoffs, I talked my present firm into letting my go in good standing in exchange for 8 weeks of severance ... little do they know, that I would have ultimately had to leave without any severance

Bills, bills, bills...is there a way to put all my bills on hiatus for 3 years? Then I'd go FT...

Last day today - kind of bummed. Having had some kind of job since I don't even know when, it's gonna be weird not to do anything except study.

Agreed. I've been unemployed for three days now, and it's weird.yagrish wrote:Last day today - kind of bummed. Having had some kind of job since I don't even know when, it's gonna be weird not to do anything except study.

Bump.
Yes, I am ready. I spend most of my day begging my coworker to shoot me rather than face another day at my job. The one thing that gets me through these days is knowing that it will be over soon, although everything's taking FOREVER.

No. My day:
Show up to work late at 7:05am
Laugh at showing up late.
Study patent bar until 10 am
Do minor work until 11 am
Do some more minor work, look at stock channel, consider turning off fox news because it distracts from patent bar
do not turn off fox news...
eat lunch
college humor
consider going outside, rainy out, ehhhhhh
glance between patent bar and TLS
see above
see above
leave work
go on TLS
have beer
again
again
beer is expensive
go to cheap whiskey b/c of international travel

I actually like my job and its only 20 hrs a week. But even when you like a job, the allure of not working at all takes over.
What I'll be glad of? My 21 credit spring semester's conclusion. That mixed with my job is wearing me down. Come summer, I'm doing nothing. At least for a couple days.

Finally told my boss that I am leaving. June 30 at the latest, unless my wife finds a new job before then.

I take it that you are some law-student sage? The Pen Is Mightier wrote:None of you have any idea...
I'd imagine that law school is indeed difficult, and will easily fill the void of joblessness. I think that my schedule right now is at least as time intensive (considering I have next to none).
My typical day:
Mon-Thurs
Wake up @ 7am
Study, take a jog, shower, breakfast until 9
Class @ 9:10 - 3:30
Library 3:30-4:30
Dinner, spend time with family 4:30-5:30
Work 5:30-10:00
Nap: 10:00-11:30
Wife comes home from work: 11:30
Spend time with wife : 11:30-2:00 (this is the only real time we have to spend with eachother)
Sleep for 5 hours.
Fridays:
Catch up on schoolwork
Work in evening
Saturdays
Second Job days
regular job in evening
Sundays
Sleep
Couple hours in library
I brought it on myself. I have to take all 21 credits to graduate. I took 19 last semester while studying for the LSAT and putting apps together. What a shitty year.

I'd quit tomorrow if I could, but I'll probably ride it out until August.
I have a wedding to pay for on top of law school so anything helps.

I plan to leave my job around mid July. I would love to leave earlier but I need the money and the insurance coverage.
I would start counting down the days until my last one, but it is too far away and would simply depress me.
