That sucks, you have my sympathy.carine44 wrote:Yeah, I am really struggling. Especially since finding out on Monday that I have to repay last year's bonus! Thanks for the sympathy. It was crappy news, but it was remarkably effective in dispelling any nostalgia and sadness I was feeling going into my last week. "Oh the memories, sniff" quickly became "fuck all of you, this place sucks," making leaving much easier.
Only one more day...
Congrats to everyone leaving this week!

Are you good at your job or do you suck? That will answer your question.

out of a team of 36, i'm number 2 as far as last months rankings go....so as long as there isn't too much animosity, i should be okay

Tell them you'll come back and sue them for that bonus money if they don't let you keep it. I mean, you will be a lawyer, and they know this, right...?carine44 wrote:Yeah, I am really struggling. On a more serious note, all my coworkers know why I'm quitting. They will not stop with the "So can I keep you on retainer?" type jokes now. Eight working days to go...

In situations where an employer asks the employee to leave the day they put in their two week notice, most employers will pay you for the final two weeks whether they escort you out that day or let you finish your two weeks. I was hoping my employer would do the same thing, but they needed me to train people to take over my responsibilities. (Same situation, health care and pharmaceutical management corp.)drhunterr wrote:turn in my 2 week's tomorrow....kinda nervous - i work for a major health care company and have access to operational information...they have the option of making me quit the day of my notice...really hoping they don't. definitely want one more pay check

Yep. July 31 will be my last full day of work. I'm going to work for a few hours on August 1 so I can get insurance coverage for the month (my manager's idea).PrudenceNeverLied wrote:Including today, yes? Very cool. My last day is August 3 for health insurance reasons as well. I also have a major brief to work on and which is due on the 31, and I didn't want my last day consumed by craziness. I want to eat cake on Monday!

Re: So, anybody ready to quit their jobs yet?
My last day is next Thursday. Today my boss told me that I could take most of my days as half-days next week, so now my final work schedule is:
Monday 1:30-5:30, Tuesday 1:30-5:30, Wednesday 8:30-5:30 + going away party, Thursday 8:30-12:30 (then going to the UM alum/student reception here in Chicago. Honestly, I can think of no better way to celebrate my last day than with free cocktails and Michigan alumni at one of the best firms in Chicago )
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
