Top Law Schools

Bumping this since I haven't seen a similar thread for this year. Does the class of 2014 just like their jobs a lot more than the past 2 years?

I work as a legal assistant for a solo firm doing some pretty high-tech litigation. I can wear shorts to work and I'm encouraged to "be unprofessional" at the office. My boss is a recent grad who, although very unusual in his business management, has been rather successful this past year. I would never run an office like this, but it's fun to tell my boss that "I'm going to squeeze all I can out of these stupid fucks (defendants)" and have him laugh and make a reference to anal sex.

I'm a probation officer...I'm countng down the days until August 1st. I have a weird sense of guilt as they created this new position for me at the courthouse; but oh well...I have to move on to bigger things than worrying which offender tested positive for a dirty urine smh.

I'm quitting my energy job on July 21st, giving myself a full month to chill pre-law school.

Definitely have already checked out though.

What are these 'jobs' you people speak of?

Last day of teaching/grading tomorrow, then two months of traveling. Psyched.

I wanted to quit July 1 too, but then I was like "hmm...holiday pay for the 4th..." haha.

dammit. I didn't even think about that. July 1st just seemed like such a perfect date. Its a Friday, start of the new month...but I should have stayed till the 5th.

my last day is the 30th. but we only work 4 day weeks in the summer and i'm taking thursday off....so, i have a grand total of 13 more days at this job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my SO, on the other hand, is staying until July1 because they'll pay for his insurance through july if he works one day that month. pretty sweet.

My last day is June 21st and school orientation is August 30th. I'm stoked for another chance to actually appreciate getting a summer break!

i have two jobs so quitting will be twice as nice!
staying at both until july 24th but i'm going to mexico july 2-july9 so i'll be completely checked out for those last two weeks.

Right there with you. I haven't had longer than a one week break (and even those pretty rarely) since I graduated from college 5 years ago. Those six weeks I am going to have before orientation begins will be glorious.

August 5 can't come soon enough.

I cannot wait as well. My last day is going to be July 15th giving me two weeks to pack up life and move across the country.

Best part about the job is I'll be traveling for work the next 4 weeks so I will only be in the office 5 days in the next month and then I have 2 weeks left, where I will be fully checked out.

It's been three years for me, but the longest vacation I've had is 10 days... for my honeymoon! And I did summer school and work for junior and senior years... so an appreciated summer is long overdue.

I've already quit. Just got back from a 3-week long beach vacation on a beach in Florida.

I'm going to have soooo much free time these next two months

My last day is the 30th. My office has known for months. Excited to be quitting, but it will also be sad. Though the job was a dead end job (no advancement possibility) the connections I have made are all but certain to land me a job in law later down the line.

Still can't wait to move away from the traffic and 90 minute commute.

Oh man a 90 minute commute must be awful. I commute out of the city and into the suburbs, so mine is really short. I always feel bad for the gridlocked traffic going the opposite way. D=

Just drafted my letter of resignation earlier this week. My last day will be August 5th. My super was hoping to get one last squeeze out of me, but then I got summoned for jury duty and selected as a juror last week. The trial is 6 weeks. How fitting... I have definitely checked out..
