haha that was good!

I've been done working for a week now, and it feels amazing! However, I just found out that I need to get a TD booster shot for school and since I no longer have health insurance right now...it's going to cost $120 including walk-in clinic fees and the shot itself. So, that sucks. Plus, the pain after that thing will be even worse.

I seriously think that I have searched every freakin' corner of the internet and printed as much personal material as possible on "company equipment".

One week left! It has gotten to the point where I look at the phone with utter disgust every time it rings.

I don't even answer the phone anymore. Since the substantial instruction of how to do my job took 3 hours of the 2 weeks that training is supposed to take I just sit at a nearby computer, "supervise" the trainee, and chat with the cool people in the office while downing cup after up of Starbucks coffee provided by the firm. 4 days and counting.

we don't have any of these here. I just count cars on the 5 freeway, take excessively long lunches and bail early for golf

Yesterday was my last day of retail work. I don't care how awful the economy is, it can't be worse than $9.25/HR and being yelled at by grouchy customers all day.

Doesn't sound so horrible lol I'm not salary so I have to sit my ass in this chair for 8 hours regardless of how long my lunch is and leaving early means coming in early. On another note, I've decided that to truly prepare myself for law school I need to learn to golf so I've started going down to the driving range. That shit is hard!

Very, very true. For some reason customers think that since you work in a retail store you automatically occupy the lowest rung of existence.

Yeah, good observation. Very few customers realize that a decent percentage of us are college students/graduates. Retail can be exciting but I definitely won't miss the abuse that some customers heap on me.

4 days until freedom! Not being stressed out about anything is a completely foreign feeling. Can't complain :D

I quit my retail job last week, and I cannot tell you how amazing it is. Not only did I have to deal with horrible customers but the company I worked for was HORRIBLE as well.

I quit my 9-5 office job the other day and like it still has not sunk in. The absolute euphoria right now caused by my knowledge of the fact that it is Sunday night and I do not have anything to do but another few hours of LEEWS and work out tomorrow blows my mind. There is literally nothing better than a summer without real obligations.

2 more weeks. Why did I think it was a good idea to work until right before I left for school? FML.

Boss informed me that if my replacement doesn't know what she's doing it's because I didn’t train her well. Maybe it's because he hired an 18 year old with no degree right out of high school- to replace a 25 year old college grad? Glad to be leaving. :)

CONGRATS!

I still have two weeks to go, but I haven't done any real work or preparation for my departure and I know everything's going to blow up just before I leave... :(

Second this. Also, irked that said replacement will be getting paid the same as me.

Turning in my notice on Thursday, and I'm still unsure how my boss is going to react. Half the time he can be very reasonable, and the other half of the time he can be a prick about the smallest things. If it seems like we're getting slammed by the end of this week I'm going to almost dread handing in my notice.

Should I hand it in personally? For what should I schedule time to hand it in to him? Just tell him I want to talk with him? I spend 99% of my work time in the field and some days I never even see my boss.

I've never given two weeks before. All of my other work has been contract or I quit the day that I left.

What did the doctor prescribe you? I could use it from time to time.

Mostly just concerned that he'll tell me to take a hike when I turn in my notice, which I just can't afford. But, at the same time, I don't want to just up and leave when I might be able to get a couple of good references in the future (maybe not from my direct manager, of course).
