I was looking at UF's stats at the ABA website, and according to the data UF had ZERO transfers in....does anybody know if Florida typically doesn't accept transfers or was this a unique year for some reason? On the other hand FSU had like 60 transfer in....

I went to this pre-law day thing at the UF law school and Dean Jerry told us that UF just does not take transfers. Period. They must make some exceptions, but I would not count on it. He also made a jab at FSU and their high amount of transfers, saying how they inflate their stats by reporting the incoming class' gpa/lsat then take a bunch of 2L transfers form Barry, FAMU, etc with lower stats that they don't have to report.
Hope that helps.

I've personally known transfers at UF. Call the Dean Of Admissions. The website allows for transfers.

I'll be a 1L at a T4 in Fall 2010. I was rejected from UF, but plan on re-applying next year.
Has anyone out there been successful at getting into UF from a T4?
I already know I am going to have to be in the top 10% of my class to have a good shot. And I'm hoping that having earned my bachelors from UF will give me bonus points with the admissions committee.
Does anyone think this can be done?
I definitely don't want to stay where I am. But I got a full scholarship and my GPA just wasnt good enough for UF Law.
Does anyone know how greatly undergrad GPA is weighed into the transfer admissions decision?

All I can say is that the UGPA doesn't matter - it's all about how you've done in law school. Also, check out the Transfers Forum out for any further answers about this.
