Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
Like a few posters above, I also didn't get a fall grade request, and I got in today! The binder got here before the letter (my mail here is sketchy, fwiw). Don't panic if you didn't get it today- Objection, your numbers blow mine out of the water, and Amy, I'm sure you'll have something when you finally get your mail!

I wasn't trying to be the barer of bad news there. This waiting is stressful enough as it is. Just making sure you didn't miss your acceptance package and not know why.amyLAchemist wrote:
Not helping with my chillax-ing. I knew putting my parents as my permanent address was a mistake. I am a fool. I can't check my own mail now either. Gah.
Congrats to everyone admitted so far!
You should try that mail forwarding thing.

In at CLS with Butler!!!! TX, postmarked 1/22. The dean underlined "enthusiasm" in the last sentence and handwrote "we hope to see you soon".

You overqualified people are nuts for worrying.
I got admitted and have way worse stats than you guys...
They are probably just admiring how wonderful your apps were and deciding how much $$ is needed to lure you away from competitors.
Or maybe they are practicing some YP this year and have admitted only people who they think are both qualified and will attend during this round of admissions...
Either way, you will be admitted as long as you want to attend the school.

I don't understand. If I had a voice recording of Toby Stock admitting me to Harvard I don't think I'd be reading this thread. Are you guys basically just hoping for $$$?treple wrote:/sigh. Three days of checking the mail as the post man is sitting there putting it into the box. 3 days of nothing.

No word here in Florida (177/4.0). I'm just hoping the mail is slow! I also didn't get a request for fall grades, but I saw that someone else with my numbers did... not sure of the reasoning for fall grade requests.

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
This has probably already been asked, but should I send in an update of my transcript to Columbia, even if they haven't asked for it? My stats are borderline as is (171, 3.81), and I'm just wondering if there is like a general standing order to send them in as soon as you get them. (I just got them last week.)
I got to say, this waiting game is really getting to me. A friend at my school (with much better stats) got his letter on Friday (we're Uptown), and I went complete like two weeks before him. At this point, I'm just constructing a series of ever more improbable scenarios why Columbia plans on accepting me and yet the letter has not reached me. I figure I'll stop hoping when time-travelling ninjas enter my scenarios. That's probably improbable enough.

Oh, and apropos, my request,
How would I go about sending in the transcript? Please tell me not via snail mail. Please. God. Please.

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
I requested an official transcript from my school to be sent to LSAC right after I received my fall grades. LSAC processed it in just a few days and sent it to all the schools I applied to (including CLS, which, however, did not request my grades - not sure what to make of it). I think it's much easier than sending separate transcripts to different schools.
