I was just running some figures. A 130 LSAT represents the 2.38 percentile according to a chart I found. The December 2008 conversion table tells us that to get a 130 you only needed a raw score of 25. At my testing center, there were at least 250 people taking the test, so about 5 of those people were only able to beat random guessing by five questions? How were they able to find the testing center? Didn't they have some inclination that law school might not be in the cards for them before they plunked down $127? Also, do you think I can get into NYU with a 131? I have great softs and was president of my school's barbershop quartet.

im sure plenty of people take the lsat for the hell of it and wind up leaving the testing center without finishing or caring.

I'm stoked. You're golden. Spin a good angle on the quartet, maybe write a jingle catered to life in Manhattan, and they'll eat it up.

Especially if you're an aspiring actor with all intent on dropping out.

This is based on the assumption that the 250 people at your testing center represented the normal distribution of LSAT scores. It could be the case that no one at your center received anything lower than 130. But then again, it could go the other way too and perhaps everyone there bombed the test.

Getting a 129 would be a real sweep to the leg. Get him a body bag!

I do think it's amazing that somewhere around half the people who take the LSAT score a 150 or below.

Did they not study whatsoever? How did they graduate college? On the one hand I am grateful for them (makes me look better), but on the other I feel like half a tard for missing the 12 that I did. At least three of those were complete throwaways.

Maybe I spend too much time on this site.

why is it amazing? it's not amazing at all...in fact its logical. more than half of the people that take the lsat for the first time are going in cold turkey, or not having taken a full test before. it makes complete sense that half score below 150.

what IS amazing however is that people go into this test with such little preparation at all.

Everyone knows that you can't study for the LSAT

If you got up and left the testing center early, I'm pretty sure they'd nullify your score. Someone actually sat there the whole time and only managed 6.25 correct/section. The only possibility I can think of is that they obsessed over each question for five minutes, and didn't have the common sense to bubble in the remaining questions when time was running out. Also, I may have fudged a bit. I was actually treasurer of the quartet. Don't tell the Character and Fitness people.
