Sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread. Do you have plans to implement residency checks for the state schools? I would imagine that would have an impact at schools like UVA, UT, Michigan(?) etc.

Otherwise, an amazing program that only continues to impress! Thanks for all you do here.
I was going to ask this exact same thing!! It would be another useful option to go along with ED.

YCR, am I interpreting this correctly? I'm in the 59th percentile for my PT class, and would have been 43rd percentile (shockingly, since I thought I was way closer to 25th) for FT. Do these percentiles refer to where I would have stood if I'd been a member of last year's entering class?

Yes, although the percentiles are estimated and can vary somewhat from the actual data (generally okay estimates for everything between 25/75, but it starts becoming notably off at either end off the spectrum).
Thanks, YCR. It feels great to be above average, for a change. (I was bluntly informed that I need to stop making references to my "below average" LSAT score, even if it does feel that way at times. Now that school has actually started, maybe I can put that damn number behind me for good.)

But OperaSoprano is, by definition, way above average. 8)

Actually, this happened to me the first time as well. Probably a cache thing. It's not happening anymore.

How indicative is this for splitters?

Are you changing it for high LSAT/Low GPA splitters only, or for reverse splitters as well?

YCrevolution wrote:I am happy to report that I have a new algorithm for calculating splitter predictions; preliminary tests would suggest better prediction (roughly 10% better at the aggregate level) for all but about 1% of splitters (and about 0.1% of the applicant pool) who would have highly pessimistic results under the new regime.

hey YC, I love the program! it rocks! if I could just have one tiny extra thing, it would be for an additional item -- state of residence!!! I'd really love to know if my state of residence boosts my chances, and if so, by how much.

Still though, fantastic, I could toy with this all day.
