LSAC Common Application

Post by huckabees » Wed Oct 29, 2008 2:08 am

Did anyone fill out LSAC's common application (comes at the very start of the application screens) even when they filled out virtually identical info on each individual school's electronic app?

Are we supposed to? (e.g., does that help info flow through to other school-specific apps?)

Thanks

The point of the common application is to save you the trouble of filling out the same information over and over again on your various applications. If you're done with your applications, filling out the common application won't do you any good.

In general, yes, it's worth it. It just saves a lot of time on that first page of the application that asks for your name, address, SS, etc. It can also save time on the work experience boxes and such.

Of course, even if you use it, you need to go through the whole package with a fine-toothed comb. You definitely don't want to scrimp and just expect everything to be filled in 100% correctly. But even so, it probably saves me 5 minutes or so per application, which can add up.

The common application is really only for about 1 page of your app info, so don't forget you still need to do something about the other 2 to 3 pages of application ;)
