Bar passage, maybe, but LSAT score inflation is probably the biggest culprit here. Also worth mentioning is the USN formula's structural bias in favor of small schools pretty much guaranteed that Chicago would steal a march on Harvard sometime in the next decade or so (and is why Stanford overtook them earlier and why Yale was always #1 even last century), so long as they kept spending money.
