OP, I know it sounds like we're all shitting on you, but I want to help. Look, with a 152 you said your school already gave you $10k off per year. Imagine what you'll get with a 160 LSAT (which is totally doable, trust me). I admire your enthusiasm to jump right in to law school, but consider this: you only get ONE shot at law school in your life. Wouldn't you want to take just a little bit more time and prep to maximize your law school experience? (By boosting your score a bit and getting into a better school or more $$$ at your target school?). Because these things really do matter, and I want to see you graduate with no regrets.
Thanks for caring. I think if I do well 1L I’ll transfer and every transfer doesn’t get money or scholarship so it really doesn’t matter then.

This thread keeps getting more and more like you went out and found a checklist of all 0L misconceptions about law and law school to follow.

How are there any “misconceptions”? You haven’t proved anything I said wrong.

If a 152 is so bad why can I go to law school w that w a partial scholarship in the state I want to? Like, there is a limit with SAT and MEd school testing below which you don’t go to school
Because the ABA--for reasons best known to themselves--decided that bars to entry should be placed after schooling, thereby enabling people to put themselves in six figures of debt before discovering that they can't get a job.

And people are saying you're a troll because each time you post, you raise some issue that has already been addressed dozens of times on this forum. Which means that either you're extremely naive or trolling for a reaction. I don't really care which it is, because 0Ls generally benefit from seeing these misconceptions debunked, but it would be nice to know if you're posting in earnest.

No one has said that going to a decent local school on a good scholarship is a bad idea if you want to practice criminal law. I'm pretty sure most people have said that's a great idea. But you don't have admission to a decent local school with a good scholarship. The advice you've received was geared towards setting you up with exactly those things.

The "attack" responses you're receiving have been in direct response to your posts suggesting that you can't retake the LSAT, can just transfer out, can just kill it in 1L, etc.

What was the GPA cutoff on your $10k/yr scholarship? Some lower ranked schools are notorious for "stacking" sections by putting a lot of scholarship recipients in the same section (meaning they have all 1L classes together). Due to the grading curve, many of them are forced into lower grades than they might have gotten if they weren't all in the same section.

So you're okay with flipping a coin to determine whether or not you'll have a job that actually requires a law degree. Interesting.

63.6% have full-time legal jobs. That's the single most important statistic regarding job placement, because you don't need a JD for any of the other jobs that make up the full employment report.

And regarding your current scholarship offer: You have a $30k scholarship (according Akron's 509, they don't do conditional scholarships, so if your offer says anything other than "good standing," they've changed their policy). Akron costs roughly $175k for three years at full price, which means you'll be over $140k in debt at graduation. How are you planning to repay that?

There are jobs that pay more than a lawyer that a JD helps you get in interviews and resume. So these superor jobs aren’t included in that number but would inflate it. You don’t “need” the Jd, but it helps.

Repay it? By being a lawyer.....

What are those jobs that pay more than being a lawyer where a JD helps you get interviews? Specifically?

And why do more Akron grads want those jobs than OSU grads, or grads from other higher-ranked schools?

Wow .. so you're okay with JUST OVER a 50% chance of practicing the law? I am willing to say it, there is no job that an Akron JD will get you that will pay more than a lawyer's salary. Are them some? yes a few people will probably have some super weird outcome because maybe they came into school with a job offer after they get their degree. However, no your reasoning is completely out of tune with the realities of legal employment.

People are not trying to be aggressive here, they are trying to suggest that you are making an error taking out a 6-figure debt to achieve pretty abysmal employment outcomes.

You are just incorrect. If you think those outcomes are reasonably attainable out of law school, you are way more misguided than I thought.
