When to start soliciting fee waivers?

I have already gotten some fee waivers through CAS, but am obviously hoping for as many as I can get. I'm wondering if it can ever be too early to ask for a waiver (i.e. if the school hasn't sent any yet)? Or am I good to go once the school's application is open?

I've received some through CAS as well but have asked for and been granted them from Minnesota, UC Berkeley, BostonU, Fordham, and Northwestern this week. Some of these, like Minnesota, just had an online form to fill out. Some others I had to email the offices directly, sometimes with proof of financial need (I attached proof of Pell Grant). Make sure to include your LSAC number in the email and check each school's policy regarding fee waivers on their website!

Did you just email Berkeley and ask? Their website says that they don't do merit waivers so did you qualify for one of the specific criteria they mention on their site?
