Top Law Schools

Hello,

I'm applying to law schools for the '20~'21 cycle.
The thing is, I took the LSAT last summer--earlier than most prospective next cycle applicants I guess.
At the time, I did not sign up for the Candidate Referral Service. I signed up for the CRS about 3 weeks ago.

My question is, does this mean the CRS will not send out my LSAT report to schools this fall, meaning that I will not get any unsolicited merit-based fee waivers?? The application fees are super daunting, and I'm worried that I'm going to have to shell out north of $800 for them. I did try to solicit them from schools last week. Northwestern, UVA, and Michigan told me they'd be happy to send me a fee waiver if I ask them again around September 1, but other schools like Penn, Columbia, NYU pretty much said: "nah sign up for CRS, end of conversation".

Any insight into my situation would be so helpful. Thanks in advance.

P.S when do schools usually start giving out unsolicited fee waivers?

I got waivers from every T14 (except HYS & Georgetown), and most of them came in September/October. For those that did not, I sent out emails with my LSAT score & LSAC ID and got waivers in November. I kept receiving fee waivers from strong regional schools outside of the T20 until March.

If you just signed up for CRS, you can reasonably expect to start seeing fee waivers in 2-3 months. Good luck!
