Hey guys I'm new here! I have a question around LSAC caluating my gpa.

I transferred from CC to top 5 four year college. I ended up getting 3.42 at my university and 3.64 on CC.
I’m an international student, so I took few under 100 level ESL courses, which I got B and C’s and is not considered as college level courses. But I got A’s on ESL courses that are upper 100 level that are college level courses.

1. I know that LSAC doesn’t not take into consideration on under 100 level courses. So when they recalculate my CC and university gpa, do they exclude my under 100 level courses? If they exclude, my CC gpa increases approx to 3.8 and there is a possibility my CAS GPA to be calculated around 3.6.

2. Does LSAC weight University and CC grade differently when averaging the GPA? Since CC courses are easier than University, I’m wondering If they give more weight on my University GPA.

1. I'm not aware of any rule that exempts college courses taken for credit from LSAC's GPA calculation. You might want to check with them about whether those courses are excluded, but as far as I know, they count.

2. No.

They do exempt certain remedial classes that aren’t taken for credit (it’s often very intro math classes for instance). So yes, they will probably just exclude those when they calculate your GPA (I say “probably” just because it sounds like your courses meet that criteria but I’m not LSAC). And no, a community college class credit is weighted the same as a non-community college class credit.

The best thing is to just get all your transcripts in and have LSAC do the calculations rather than worrying about it yourself, though.
