Applying with a bad LSAT score and one on the way

Hi,

I have a question about applying with my September score while waiting on the October test score.

I only have a 3.64 LSAC GPA, but I am applying to some T14s + Vanderbilt because I have been scoring in the 170s on PTs for months. In September, I freaked out on the test and scored 167. I took it again in October and feel like I did much better.

I know that it's possible to submit an application and indicate that a new test score is on its way: should I do so? Presumably, the advantage is that my application would be seen by admissions earlier, but I can also imagine many negatives. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The most likely outcome is that it won't have any effect. Schools generally put your application on hold until the new score comes in.

Exactly this, and I'd therefore just wait until the new score comes out.

This advice really helped, thank you! Sorry for not thanking you earlier. Got a 172 this time around so my chances are quite improved.
