Hi, just another neurotic law school applicant.

I was diagnosed with cancer my sophomore year, and ended up transferring from a fairly elite school to a no-name state school (not trying to be snobby, just trying to give a sense of the situation) so that I could live at home while I got treatment. I took a semester off between leaving the first school and starting at the second. The personal statement I have drafted right now only briefly mentions this, as it has nothing to do with my career goals/desire to become a lawyer and I don't want to come off as though I'm dwelling on it. My question is, do I write an addendum addressing the school change and semester off, change my PS to explain it more thoroughly, or just ignore it? I have a 3.87, so it's not like I can write it from the standpoint of a GPA addendum.

Might be worth mentioning the transfer home in your PS, but even without that I think adcomms will be able to connect the dots once you mention your health issues. I definitely wouldn't write an addendum here. Congrats on doing so well despite that obstacle.
