Top Law Schools

My question is quite simple:

Is a law school consultant worth the money? I've looked at a few and it seems they can really help in the admission process and help achieve your law school goals. Yet, I can't decide if their benefits are worth the 3K-5K that I would spend on one of them. If you do think they are worth the money, does anyone have recommendations on a good consultant?

Law school admissions is almost exclusively numbers-driven (GPA/LSAT), at all schools except Y/S. Given that reality, for the average applicant I don't think hiring a consultant would add much value. I'd only recommend shelling out for a consultant in more complex situations, e.g., your record includes criminal charges, academic discipline (particularly anything involving dishonesty), dropping out, or other such factors that would raise a red flag in adcoms' eyes. Or you're dead set on Yale and Stanford, and have the GPA/LSAT required to give you a realistic shot at those schools, or you have truly extraordinary, out-of-this-world softs.
