When to ED at UT Austin and when not to ED?

I am from Texas and want to stay in Texas. Undergraduate (and LSAC) GPA is 3.4. I am still waiting on LSAT results, but I am essentially wondering: at what LSAT score does it make sense for me to apply regular decision versus early decision? I get in state tuition and ED would also give me $10k per year that I can use towards tuition. I feel like even with a 170, it would be very hard to get more than $10k/year from UT with such a low GPA.
P.S. Undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering and I have solid work experience...
