Are you F'ing kidding me?

Do you realize that it makes far more sense to simply LIVE out in LI?

Withdraw from touro before it's too late...otherwise your life is over.

You understand that it's a 90 minute commute from most of Brooklyn.

3 hours a day driving while you're in school? That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I'm assuming that you're frum and living in Brooklyn (which part?).

Did you apply to Cardozo or CUNY or Brooklyn? Touro doesn't have much clout outside of the frum community (and even there avrechim are rumored to pay for grades), so are you sure its worth it in terms of the debt/less than stellar job prospects?

if this gives you any frame of reference, please take it for what its worth -

my husband and i lived in the 5 towns last year (woodmere) and he commuted to stony brook for a grad program.

it was a DISASTER. i would not recommend that my enemy do this. he was always exhausted, always in traffic, just really stressed out. the program did not even meet everyday, and it was certainly not as time consuming as law school. AND the commute was shorter than the one that you will have from bklyn to touro.

i have lived almost my whole life on LI and cannot imagine dealing with traffic + law school. (please dont say, oh its a reverse commute it's not as bad.)

i would really consider reapplying to cuny queens, hofstra, pace, st johns.

you could always LIRR it. I did an internship by Touro LS last summer. Met several students there. It's not too far from the train station, I think a bus runs from the station to the school. If its possible, that would be best and allow you to study on the train. I had to drive out there several times from Queens, its not fun, atleast 45 mins for me. Prolly be closer to 90 mins for you at best, and you know traffic sucks throughout BK during the morning.

Looking at a map, i would definitely consider taking the train.

Does your wife work? I would seriously consider moving your family out of Brooklyn for 3 years.

yes i am frum and live in brooklyn (boro park) i applied to nyls pace cuny and touro
accepted at touro, rejected at nyls, pace and cuny still pending
i happen to be chasidic (full beard and peyes) hence i dont expect to be hired
by a fortune 500 company
my goal is to pass the bar and open a practice in boro park/willamsburg section
of brooklyn to serve the chasidish community
cuny would be ideal the low tuition and location are great and im saying tehilim every day
so i should get accepted
i will appreciate any input from forum members chasidish or litvish
