Summer School - Visiting Student Programs

This is a pretty general question about summer programs in general - Basically, I need 5 more credits to graduate before Fall 2018, and I'm looking at summer programs in VA and Seattle (Va is hometown; Seattle is where I will be working). I would take summer courses at my law school, but my lease ends the end of May and it would be cheaper for me to find a program near where I live or where I will be living.
Are these visiting student programs very competitive? The requirements at some of the schools I'm looking at just ask for a transcript and letter of good standing. Does that mean I shouldn't also send my resume or any letters of recommendations?
TIA!!
