This is all ridiculous until you have a real LSAT. Get a score, then come back. The higher, the better.

I second the other poster's comment; this is ridiculous. You need an LSAT score. A +/- 5 point difference in your LSAT score is the difference between Harvard and Boston College

+1

Splitter cycles and URM cycles are each hard to predict, and the intersection doubly so, so it's less about hitting a magic number and more about doing as well as possible.
I want to work in healthcare legislation to protect other sick kids and their access to healthcare, etc.
I would also note that law school might not be the best route to achieving this goal. If I were a legislator I'd be much more interested in the policy advice of someone with a (relevant) PhD than some JD.

The reason people are saying its ridiculous is because anything could happen on test day. You get one question that stumps you and it could throw off that section, which leads to you unraveling and blowing the rest of the test- the point is you never know and nothing is guaranteed.

If you really need to know your odds, id suggest checking http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/admissions/search/ . If you were to get a 172 it looks like you've got a good shot at Chicago and Columbia with no money.

i don't think LS helps you get the job that you want, and even if it does help, you still aren't guaranteed it. what will you do if you can't get that job?

i don't think LS is for you...

In regard to ur decision about whether or not to hire a tutor, this decision should be made based on whether or not such action would help. In many cases a tutor is unnecessary if you already PT at 170+. But if you would benefit at all from outside help, go ahead and get it.

I don’t think 3.6+ URM is all that much of a splitter, I think you’ll have solid chances everywhere below HYS with a good LSAT score, and I don’t imagine those 3 are out of the question. You should aim for 175+ if you want to improve chances at hys. So, as others have said, score as high as possible.

E: I think the reaction to OP was a little harsh. It’s normal to wonder what your odds will be at X schools with Y score. I’m sure many of us have spent many hours trying to figure out what our options will be with X or Y score during LSAT prep. I definitely did. One might argue that it’d be pretty stupid to spend hundreds of hours doing LSAT prep without knowing the odds of attaining admission into a good school.
