Scholarships In NYC

Post by JBB5 » Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:00 pm

Hi there - I have a 163 LSAT score and a 3.67 GPA from a Top 30 undergrad institution. I want to practice public interest in NYC upon graduating. I am planning to retake the LSAT in December because many of my PTs were significantly higher. I was wondering what my scholarship options are in NYC? I will be commuting from home to minimize my costs, and am looking for advice/knowledge from current law students or recent grads about merit scholarship options in the NYC market. Thanks!

What kind of public interest work do you want to do?

In general, scholarship money is harder to predict than admissions chances, but you should be competitive for meh money at Fordham and for very solid offers from Cardozo on down with your current numbers.

Ideally, I'd like to be a DA in the city, which I know is competitive. Right, I had a feeling with my current stats that it wouldn't be enough for good money at Fordham but I wasn't sure about Cardozo, that's encouraging. Thank you both!
