That is pretty impressive, basically kept class size and bumped median/75th, congrats to you and UF both.MikeSpivey wrote:DAMN YOU! I actually knew it too, straight from the top. I mean, great gains for LSAT and GPA. Assuming they can whether a couple year of hyper-selective cycles like this, that gamble may just pay off...

Crazy that it went from over two hundred to 28 in just a few years. At what point does a law school become an apprenticeship program?principalagent wrote:Watch a school next year float up to mid 3.x low 160s by just bringing in 7 people

You have to respect a school for not just admitting hundreds of people with no chance of passing the bar, thoughpersonofinterest wrote:Crazy that it went from over two hundred to 28 in just a few years. This is fair. Many schools would do well to take their lead, just perhaps not as dramatically. But $$$rowdy wrote:You have to respect a school for not just admitting hundreds of people with no chance of passing the bar, though

Assuming they really have an incoming class of 28, I wouldn't be surprised if their employment score was like 90% and their BLFC score was over 50%. USNEWS' "resource dollars per student" metric or whatever it is will also be grossly inflated. They're gonna be an anomaly this year. Will be interesting to see what happens with their rank.

Re: CLASS OF 2020 MEDIANS (LSAT/GPA/CLASS SIZE)
On the flip side, the biggest metric impact USNWR rankings are the prestige ratings. A school that goes from a class of 103 to class of 28 is going to certainly turn some heads on that level. And not in the right direction -- this will make some of the media rounds to the wrong people. Also the employment metric won't be impacted for 3+ years. Resource dollars per student is generally most impacted by faculty salary, but yea obviously this will impact it positively for them. But you can't pay anyone with that enrollment, so they get maybe a 1 year bump in the rankings at a spot that isn't much noticed anyway, and then have to make up for it next year and regress right back.vcap180 wrote:MikeSpivey wrote:John Maynard Keynes once famously said "markets can remain irrational longer than you can stay solvent"rowdy wrote:Well, cinnamon and gravyMikeSpivey wrote:They brought in a class of 28 people?principalagent wrote:I'm sorry, what?Huskies13! wrote:Valpo:

I dunno. I just don't think this was intentional or strategic. Certainly I could be wrong. Maybe they hit the fundraising jackpot?

Well said. Certainly couldn't (or shouldn't) have been a strategic move. And I can't imagine valpo hit a fundraising jackpot hahaha.
Would you agree that the students in this class are probably in an incidental, bizarrely good position? I can't see how they will have ANY unemployed and seeking students in a class of 28. The career services dept would have to be egregiously inept, wouldn't it?!

Re: CLASS OF 2020 MEDIANS (LSAT/GPA/CLASS SIZE)
In a class of 28, I can't see how grades would even matter. Even though it's a shiTTTTy school, it's hard to imagine that an ABA accredited school, through its career services, faculty, alumni, random ass connections, and whatever else, could fail to find a whopping 28 jobs within 10 months of the 2020 class' graduation - even if the jobs are mostly shitlaw, I'm sure they can scrounge up 28 of them. I'd be baffled if that class had less than a 90% FTLT employment score - and it should be 100.Platopus wrote:IDK, might have some weird implications for grading and what not.vcap180 wrote:

Hell, if they can send 6 kids to a large firm, they will be comfortably over 20% for biglaw lol - comparable to schools like Georgia and Alabama!
This is obviously a train wreck, I'm just noting that the kids in that class may experience a bizarre twist of fortune.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
